ME MYSELF AND I
Amanda Hope Macari is a multi-media ARTIST born and raised in New York City.
Ms. Macari graduated with a BA in Creative Writing from Hunter College NY 2012 and an MA with Distinction in Digital Media from Goldsmiths University London, UK 2017. Over the past decade she has worked as a Teaching Artist for organizations such as Church Street School for Music and Art and The Children’s Museum of the Arts.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Macari became the Director of Programs for Church Street School, where she specialized in community arts programming.
To expand upon her love of visual storytelling, children’s education, and socially conscious media production Ms. Macari spent six years with Sesame Workshop co-producing international versions of Sesame Street with teams in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
In 2014, Ms. Macari wrote Reflections, an arts curriculum for the Sesame Workshop India preschool and after school initiatives in India. The curriculum was a 36-week program that developed social/emotional skills through hands-on arts education.
She has been fortunate to travel and work around the world in countries including China, India, Japan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Thailand, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
She is currently in a post-graduate research program at Goldsmiths University where her work focuses on the intersection of emerging technologies and humanitarian communication.
